Scanning needs a LiDAR sensor and iOS or iPadOS 18 or later.
- iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, and every iPhone Pro since
- iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation) and later
- iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation) and later, and iPad Pro 13-inch
Everyone else
Anyone can open a model someone shared with them, in any modern browser, on a phone or a computer. No app needed.
Getting a good scan
How slow is “slowly”?
A slow walking pace. The app tells you to slow down when you go faster than that. Keep the phone up as you go through a doorway so the rooms join.
The scan lost track in the middle of a room
That's usually the phone losing its place: moving too fast, or pointing at a dark or blank wall. Turn on the lights, go back to where it stopped, and scan the room again more slowly.
A closet or a stair is missing
Scan a closet as its own small room and name it “Closet”. Stairs show up as boxes while you scan; Snug rebuilds the flight afterwards.
How accurate are the measurements?
They come from Apple's RoomPlan. On a test room, Snug's floor area closely matched a separate scanning app, but we haven't finished checking against a tape measure, so measure with a tape before you buy furniture that only just fits.
How do I delete my home?
Write to support@snug3d.com and we'll delete it with everything made from it. A delete button in the app comes before public testing. The privacy page lists what we keep.
